Lake Guntersville State Park 40th annual Eagle Awareness weekend 2

For the past 40 years Lake Guntersville State Park has been the home to an educational experience like no other. The two weekends designated as Eagle Awareness are designed to educate and celebrate the restoration of the American Bald Eagle to the North Alabama region of the country. Driven almost to extinction the eagles have made a miraculous come back to the region. Guests to these weekends get to enjoy guided eagle safari tours, live birds of prey presentations, guaranteed daily eagle sightings, and more!

Led by a group of dedicated naturalists with the support of many, many volunteers and several organizations Eagle Awareness is both educational and entertaining. These are just a few of the many folks who make these events possible: Renee Raney - Chief Naturalist: Interpretation & Education, Alabama State Parks, Anna Crow - Park Naturalist, Lake Guntersville State Park & Buck’s Pocket State Park, and Eric Cline - District Naturalist.
