These photographs were taken in Decatur Alabama.
Taken primarily at Wheeler Wildlife Refuge. Wheeler Wildlife Refuge offers a fantastic opportunity to find local, and not so local birds of all varieties. During the winter months, from late September through February you can usually witness thousands of Sand Hill Cranes during the annual migration from the North. Wheeler is also home to the very rare Whooping Crane, of which there are only just over 800 remaining in the world. There are many different parts to Wheeler Wildlife Refuge as it covers a good portion of the North Alabama Tennessee River basin. I encourage to go and visit and see what you can discover.
