RON SCARBEL

A passionate photographer:

I received my first camera at the age of 12. The camera was a Polaroid Super Color 1000, and I was hooked. Through the years I have moved onto more sophisticated equipment as my abilities outgrew what I was shooting with at the time. See my gear list for what I am currently utilizing. I enjoy all genres of photography; portrait, landscape, macro, food, still life, and wildlife/nature. I plan on using this webpage to showcase my best work.

I call home, the northern part of Alabama. I love to travel and have been fortunate enough to visit several other countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand (the most beautiful country I have ever seen.). I hope to continue my travels as time permits. I am a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography and am currently working towards my Certified Professional Photographer certification.

The last few years I have gravitated more towards wildlife photography, falling in love with Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge and the diverse wildlife that can be seen in the different areas of the Refuge. I also love the Guntersville Lake area, primarily for seeing bald eagles, as well as, various other types of birds and animals. I also enjoy teaching about photography and hope to offer some courses on both portraiture and wildlife photography in the near future.
